Share your unique code with the organisations you already advise. Anyone who signs up on an annual plan with it gets 10% off their first year of annual billing, plus a 30-day free trial instead of our standard 14. Attribution runs on the code they enter at checkout.
Earn
You earn a flat 10% commission on every referral credited to your code. We reconcile it monthly in our own records — ask us any time and we will send you your figures.
Every referral pays you twice, not once
Commission runs for 24 months per referral — the organisation's signup payment and its first renewal. Figures use EMPOBase's annual list prices: Starter $350/yr, Team $990/yr, Pro $2,490/yr.

Year one is lower because you earn 10% of what they actually pay, and their first year carries the 10% referral discount. Year two they renew at full price, so your commission goes up — it lands on the plan's monthly list price: $35, $99 or $249.
Annual billing only — a monthly-cycle referral earns neither the discount nor commission.

Affiliate programme questions
Who can join the affiliate programme?
Consultants, trainers, creators and agencies who work with humanitarian or development organisations, plus NGO staff who prefer the credit track. EMPO employees and their immediate family members cannot participate.
Which plans earn commission?
Starter, Team and Pro — EMPOBase's three published subscription tiers. Enterprise deals are excluded because they're individually negotiated.
How long do I earn commission for a referral?
24 months from the date the referral is credited to you. Because commission is earned on annual billing, that window covers two payments: their signup and their first renewal. Year one is 10% of what they pay after the referral discount; year two is 10% of the full annual price, so it is slightly higher. After 24 months that referral stops earning.
How does attribution work?
Your code, entered at checkout, is what credits a referral to you. Link and cookie tracking are not built — see the programme status above.
How and when do I get paid?
Payouts open when our billing rails do — see the programme status above. Until then your commission is recorded from your first referral and reconciled monthly in our own records; there is no affiliate dashboard yet, so ask us any time and we will send you your figures. We will email every registered affiliate the moment payouts open.
When does a commission become approved?
There's no separate approval window yet — commission is recognised as soon as a referred organisation makes a payment inside the 24-month window, while your code is valid, active and not a self-referral, and is included in that month's reconciliation.
What happens with annual plans?
Annual plans are the only cycle that earns the referral discount and commission — a referred organisation on an annual plan gets 10% off their first year, and you earn a flat 10% of what they actually pay, for 24 months from the referral. Monthly-plan signups don't currently get a discount or generate commission.
I work for an NGO — isn't earning a referral fee a conflict of interest?
